I’ve actually been thinking about this idea since last year, but I’ve never actually been able to sketch out the idea until now. Pretty much, this graph would present different information depending on which axis it is viewed on. Unfortunately, I do not think this would work great in virtual reality since the camera is perspective, and it is really difficult to judge which object is higher than another when the objects are located at different z-locations. However, this could be fixed with a virtual ruler, which I hope to be one of my ideas. Implementing this is easy enough – whether it is useful is a completely different story.
There are a lot of different ideas that could be added to this, such as rather than having it as a scatter plot, have the width of the bars span a specific range of values, and so on.
